Megan achieves much of her inspiration from conversations with people she meets all over the world. Her passion lies in learning about the various idols who inspire others. She aims to project this energetic admiration through her art in a fun, colorful, original manner for others to experience and enjoy.
When discussing her successful art career, Megan merely remarks, “I create to bring a feeling of joy to the lives and homes of others. Our ever-changing world begs for interactions that provide a necessary and happy escape from reality.” Nothing could motivate Megan more than the opportunity to provide this merriment for her new and existing friends.
Megan Peterson began her solo artistic journey by simply exploring any and every creative process that provided a personal feeling of sincere joy. Her first true wonder was a depiction of the mesmerizing Coco Chanel during which she discovered an outlet that garnered acceptance of her bold style and creative personality. There was no turning back…a star was born!
With a solid, dependable canvas in hand, Megan begins by extensively researching her chosen subject matter. Her inquisition allows for an educated, intimate approach to bringing each notable figure to life in the most respectful way. Original magazine covers, vintage ticket stubs, movie posters, iconic images and more bring unique life to each canvas. Pearls, beads and crystals sourced from Austria, acrylic paint and other accents adorn these pieces to create a distinctive quality to her work.
Megan’s artistic process includes layers of resin, which each require a lengthy preparation, application and drying time. After several layers of resin are curated, applied and dried, Megan then adds the effervescent highlights which help to create depth and dimension to each magnificent piece. While many artists choose to frame their art, Megan prefers to offer her art unframed to showcase the raw, original drips of resin that organically fall behind the canvas. This natural, untouched element adds an even more elevated facet to Megan Peterson Art.
